Sneak peak at a infrared project I’m working on. It’s a lot harder than I thought it would be. Everything you see in this pic is captured with light waves that your eyes can’t see.
Since I’m using a 760nm filter instead of a converted camera there’s loads of problems, like for one the filter is completely pitch black so you can’t see anything through the viewfinder/LCD screen. The plane of focus is shifted so you can’t even use zone focus normally you have to use a IR mark and unfortunately only one of my lenses has one. You can’t step down lenses to the normal landscapes apertures, not really sure why but I’m guessing it has to do with refraction which makes it appear blurry and out of focus.
Hopefully by the end of the project I will have a series that will make Riverside look like a ghost town, I’m using really long 4-10 minute exposures which basically makes people and cars(that are moving) completely disappear, they just leave a faint trail.
